Choose-day

Another lazy day. Charlie Chaplin’s great speech. It’s crazy that later on he was persecuted for possibly being some sort of Socialist/Communist/Pacifist. A quote from Charlie:

“Whether I re-entered that unhappy country or not was of little consequence to me. I would like to have told them that the sooner I was rid of that hate-beleaguered atmosphere the better, that I was fed up of America’s insults and moral pomposity”.

On a lighter note, Brighton (best city in the world) again:

‘For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.’

  1. Moral pomposity. Damn, but that’s an appropriate phrase in some parts of the US this year what with moralists passing laws left and right to dictate to others how they should conduct their personal affairs. And they claim to stand for freedom and liberty. Bollocks!
